Role purpose

As a Product Manager Data Insights your primary responsibility is to help create and deliver best-in-class data insights solutions. You will closely collaborate with customers located at metropole cities in Europe and with your CycloMedia colleagues. It is important to have a thorough understanding of-and vision on the Smart City market and how AI, Geospatial and data can come together to address complex challenges.

Some of the more inspirational examples your (future) colleagues have worked on are: an AI solution that extracts all the public advertising in the city inclusive location and dimensions which is used for taxation purposes and focuses on the livability in the city by reducing unwanted advertising, an AI driven mobility solution that helps cities make the right decision is repurposing and redesigning their road networks to combat congestion and facilitate “active mobility”. Working together with a key player in infrastructure management we have developed a product that supports our clients with automated road surface analysis. Telling our clients where to invest and where to maintain in order to keep key infrastructure safe, reliable and affordable.

The organisation

CycloMedia develops, builds and operates the worlds most advanced mobile mapping systems. With a combination of sensors ranging from camera's s & lidar scanners to state-of-the-art positioning systems they map dense urban areas in Western Europe and North America.

The petabytes of data (all processed and stored in the Microsoft Azure cloud) that they collect every year are used by “professional users”, ranging from city governments to large corporates working in utilities, infrastructure and insurance. Their one common denominator is their need for better data and information to drive change in how they can serve their inhabitants and customers.

CycloMedia is unique in covering the complete customer value chain by offering technology, data and applications to add value and lower costs for public and private organizations. Today their solutions make cities more safe, green, connected, accessible and smart and help companies to make the right decisions based on fresh and accurate data. Main duties and responsibilities

• Translate customer and market insights and define/develop value propositions;

• Develop, structure and manage the product portfolio strategy and technological developments;

• Define market penetration plans & budgets;

• Develop and lead market introduction, positioning and pricing strategy;

• Work closely with internal stakeholders from Sales, R&D and marketing to create buy-in for your plans;

• Select external partners relevant to the go-to-market strategy;

• Act as a mature sparring partner for management, customers and partners.

Position of function in organization

Work in close cooperation with the clients and Cyclomedia Colleagues to bring new products to life through POC development.


  • BSc degree;
  • 5-8 years of product management experience in a digital/content/software based B2B business;
  • Knowledge of some of these relevant technologies: AI, Deep learning, Computer vision, Data Analytics, Geospatial;
  • Successfully uninitiated, developed and launched new initiatives before; knowledge of the SAFE framework would be beneficial;
  • Affinity and experience with Smart city concepts is a plus;
  • Curious, Intelligent, Down to earth, Proactive and Mature;
  • High analytical skills. You thrive in breaking down complex matter into manageable solutions;
  • Quick thinker, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with ease, feels comfortable to "run the show" and has focus on solutions to make things happen;
  • You can balance and assess opportunities to help the organization focus on what really matters most;
  • You have the capability to translate market insights into product vision and evangelize this with both in as external stakeholders;
  • Able to show leadership, technological acumen and strategic insight;
  • An eye for detail; you understand that small nuances makes a huge difference;
  • You possess a “Product Mindset” and what is takes to bring a great project and translate this in an end-to-end product;
  • Business development skills and experience are appreciated;
  • Excellent Dutch and English language skills.
