Purpose of the role

The main focus of the Senior Supply Planner lies in ensuring optimal inventory levels and availability for the stores and DC’s. You are the main point of contact for the supplier to ensure optimal delivery and solve any delivery issues. You have the ability to signal core issues and provide input to improve category and/or supplier performance on a continuous basis. You know your way around the business in order to fully align all supply chain-related activities with relevant stakeholders within your category/supplier domain.

As a Supply Chain Planner, you are concerned with:

  • You provide input and feedback on daily performance and issues;
  • You participate in periodic issuance of important goods from category leader and representative to others;
  • You are end-responsible to set up a pre-season tactical plan for the flow of goods (replenishment strategy, allocation strategy, in-season monitoring, open to buy, seasonal evaluations, goods flow optimization, etc.);
  • You are ultimately responsible for drawing up a pre-season tactical plan for the flow of goods (replenishment strategy, allocation strategy, in-season monitoring, open-to-buy, seasonal evaluations, optimization of the flow of goods, etc.);
  • you will signal core issues and set up improvement plans at a category-supplier level in order to optimize overall performance;
  • You use your experience to identify core problems and improvement plans by category to achieve full performance;
  • Validate and create purchase orders per DC delivered by the replenishment system, and daily and maintain KPIs.

Daily monitoring of incoming deliveries in the portal becomes a task. Being the category leader, communicating and collaborating with your cross-functional stakeholders such as purchasing, commercial, and logistics to achieve (common) goals. Measures should be taken to ensure a timely and complete availability to avoid problems. You perform administration such as processing and order management data and processing forecasts in the supply system.


As a Senior Supply Planner you will be part of the Supply Chain Planning department and report to the Unit Planning Manager. The Senior Supply Planner is in close contact with the Category Demand Planner, Category Buyer and Individual suppliers.


You are very organized, able to structure activities, stick to agreements within deadlines and according to guidelines. You work efficiently and effectively, also when under time pressure. You make proposals for efficient and effective working methods with the least possible complexity and implements these. Due to the fact that you are the absolute expert in your field, you will participate in projects that reach beyond your own planning activities. You are able to switch from detailed operational processes to high-level planning overviews. You are proactive and you work effectively with others (eg buying, logistics, suppliers) to achieve common goals

Furthermore, you have:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree;
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably within retail;
  • English in speaking and writing;
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel;
  • Knowledge of SAP is a pré;
  • Knowledge of forecasting and replenishment systems;
  • Affinity with numbers and data.
